A website brief doesn’t need to be long. Its job is to explain what you want the site to achieve and who it needs to help.

Start with your visitors

Think about who will use the website and the questions they bring with them. A potential customer might want to understand your services, see examples of your work or find a way to contact you.

Decide what matters most

Write down the main action you want visitors to take. Then list the pages, information and features that support that action.

  • A short introduction to your business.
  • The services or products you want to explain.
  • Photographs, branding and written content you already have.
  • Any forms, bookings or other features you need.
  • Your intended budget and launch date.

Keep room for discussion

Your brief is a starting point. Sharing your priorities early makes it easier to work through the details together.
